Prove Them Wrong: A Story About My Mum

Prove Them Wrong: A Story About My Mum

Today I wanted to share a quick story about my mum.

I shot a video you can watch here:

My brother Chris and I recently agreed to invest into her struggling restaurant business in the Philippines.

She has dreams of growing it into a franchise and becoming one of the best and well-known chicken bbq grills to hit the market.

Here’s the thing,

I’ve seen the restaurant… it has great food and great staff but what is severely lacks is a quality LOCATION…

First of all it has hardly any parking.

Secondly it’s hidden around a corner and tough to find.

Thirdly it has way too much competition in the surrounding and her brand is not well known yet.

As an entrepreneur and investor, I had to point out that I couldn’t see how she was going to succeed.

It was tough to break her dreams, but we invested anyway. Why?

Pure love and affection, she has done so much for us I felt it was time for us to return the favour.

I let her know that although I can’t see how it was going to succeed, I encouraged her to PROVE ME WRONG!

I told her I don’t expect any return on my investment, but there would be nothing more to make me happy than her to prove me wrong and create amazing success.

It’s funny how when back in 2014, when Chris and I quit our jobs to start our online business without any results or zero previous online business experience, she use to say the exact same thing to us, “Prove me wrong”.

The moral of the story is that success isn’t easy, it’s tough!

90% of business start-ups fail within there first 3 years so the odds are always going to be against you.

The facts don’t lie but here’s the catch…

When you want something bad enough, the facts don’t matter!!!

Sometimes self-belief is all you need to turn your BIG dreams into reality.

So, ignore the naysayers, disregard the facts… and just go for it!

Becoming Wealthy vs Staying Average

Becoming Wealthy vs Staying Average

There is a difference between how rich people and average people choose to get paid.

Average people choose to get paid based on time — on a steady salary or hourly rate — while rich people generally own their own businesses, work on commission, or choose stock options and profit sharing over higher salaries.

As a former accountant, I was living an average life…

I was choosing to get paid based on time. What is even worse is that my employer was charging me out 10 times more than I was actually getting paid (i.e I was getting paid $25/hr while my company charged me out at $250/hr).

Despite the long hours, I couldn’t choose how much I was worth to the company. I mean I couldn’t just determine how much I’d like to be paid each month?

13728534_1755313334744035_1739587940_oThe lesson I learned from working my 9 to 5 was that if you work for money, you give the power to your employer. If money works for you, you keep the power and control it.

Working for money is the easier path — it’s what we’re taught in school (how to write a résumé, get a job, and work hard).

Having your money work for you — by starting an internet based business, being your own boss, and investing in yourself — requires calculated risk and a level of comfort with uncertainty.

The good news is that you can greatly reduce this risk by following a proven step-by-step blueprint. That is exactly what I did two years ago when I chose to join The Six Figure Mentors.

13483012_1730568743847772_8130291690387183894_oThey give you all the training, tools and even products to sell (if you don’t have any of your own products) required to create a very successful internet based business that get’s money working for you!

No previous online experience is required… the only requirement is a positive attitude and the desire for something more.

So, if your interested in learning how to make money work for you rather than being forever controlled by your employer then I highly recommend you submit an application to the SFM today by clicking this link.

Because being average is boring (like being an accountant!)

Lifestyle-Preneur : A New Type of Entrepreneur

Lifestyle-Preneur : A New Type of Entrepreneur

While in Bali last month I noticed a growing trend…

I was surprised by the growing number of online business owners who had created systems for earning passiveincome just like ourselves.

Modern technology and the digital age has created tremendous opportunity for the new type of entrepreneur, The Lifestyle Entrepreneur aka “Lifestyle-Preneur”.

Although many of these people didn’t earn millions of dollars from their online businesses, I applaud them in their simple ability to have created more time freedom compared to the typical 9-5 employee.

For those of you who are looking for a cost-effective way to build a digital business, my advice is to simply save some money, re-locate to somewhere in South East Asia where your expenses are much lower and live the simple life while you build your online business!

Sound like a crazy idea? Good…

Sometimes thinking outside the box is exactly what you need if you’re looking for drastic changes in the way you earn a living and live your life.

Anyway, enjoy the video and let me know what you think.

Be Yourself, Have Fun, and Get Paid…

Be Yourself, Have Fun, and Get Paid…

Last week I met people from all walks of the planet, including former doctors, lawyers, accountants, and many from the world of finance.

Some of these people had been working for over 30 years until they made the decision to transition into the world of digital entrepreneurship.

Many of them left well-paid six figure salaries to create their very own laptop lifestyle using the the same system and platform we used ourselves to leave the corporate world.

The thing that amazed me the most is that so many of these ex-corporates was that being an expert in their respective fields didn’t necessarily define who they truly were.

As we dug deeper into their stories I found most (including myself) exposing their true selves for the very first time.

Here’s what I mean…

Some had life long passions for music, art, and serving others. I even met one guy who use to DJ outside his corporate gig.

What if you could be fully self-expressed and earn money on your own terms?

That is what creating a laptop lifestyle is all about. Creating a business that gives you the freedom to finally pursue what you’re actually passionate about.

Most people are sceptical, but our community members are living proof their is definitely a different way of doing things…

So today I shot a quick video message about this but also a very insightful one…

Enjoy the video!

Cheat Your Way To Millionaire Status…

Cheat Your Way To Millionaire Status…

I’m writing you this as I sit in the airport waiting for our final flight home to Perth.

For the last 6 weeks my team and I have had such an amazing time traveling all over the Philippines spending well needed time with close family and friends and I really can’t believe how quick the weeks flew by…

Anyway, while waiting for my flight I plugged into one of my favorite podcasts and this got me thinking, maybe you’ve heard this before . . .

“Look at the income of the 5 people that you hang out with most and your income will be roughly the average of those people.”

I’ve heard it many times, and have done a lot of introspection on this idea. I do believe it to be absolutely true, but for many of us it’s just not that easy to seek out 5 highly successfully people and hang out with them enough for their ideals to rub off.

I look at the people I hang out with most, my mates from school, parents, my grandparents, and my few close friends that live in close proximity, and when I do an income analysis of what they make compared to myself I’m left scratching my head.

I’m doing way better than all of them. I don’t say this to brag, but rather to try to work out why I’ve been able to achieve success when I don’t necessarily hang out with hyper successful people on a daily basis.

You wanna know what I discovered?

I cheated my way to where I am.

There is absolutely a way to rub elbows with the best and brightest and have their way of thinking rub off on you enough to make great gains personally, health, wealth, and whatever else.

What has allowed me to personally break away from the pack while still spending most of time with them?

The one thing I do, that others I know surely don’t is, I listen to motivational material every single day and it’s rubbed off on me in a big way.

My iPhone is packed with Brendon Burchard, Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Earl Nightingale, Zig Ziglar, Napoleon Hill, etc. You name it and I’m listening to it on a daily basis.

It’s literally a way to cheat your way to a millionaire mindset.

Do it.

Wake up each day and listen to something highly motivational for an hour and you’ll see just how little time it will take you to start approaching those goals you once thought were just dreams.
